Department of Irrigation and Land Improvement

The Department's primary function is to teach subjects related to its field of specialisation and to provide a high level of research and service. The broader mission of the Department is to provide expert advice, training, education and research in irrigation development, agricultural water management and irrigation related to agricultural training. The department is responsible for water and energy saving technological developments for the modernisation of agricultural irrigation technologies; research on soil cultivation and crop production technologies to mitigate the effects of climate change and domestic water scarcity; possibilities for the development of complex melioration and micro-irrigation technologies in the field of agriculture; precision water and soil fertility management, precision irrigation technology research; research on agricultural water management for the development of domestic irrigation and other agronomic R+D+I tasks.​​​​​​​
